Wag the Dog (same as: tail wags the dog):
The phrase 'Wag the Dog' is used to indicate that attention is purposely being diverted from something of greater importance to something of lesser importance.
Hegelian Dialect (aka: Hegelian Triad):
In Philosophy, "an interpretive method, originally used to relate specific entities or events to the absolute idea, in which an assertable proposition (thesis) is necessaily opposed by its apparent contradiction (antithesis), and both reconciled on a higher level of truth by a third proposition (synthesis)."

TTIP - Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership
A proposed trade agreement between the European Union and the United States, with the aim of promoting trade and multilateral economic growth. The American government considers the TTIP a companion agreement to the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP).
NAFTA- North American Free Trade Agreement
A comprehensive agreement that sets the rules for international trade and investment between Canada, the United States, and Mexico.
CETA - The Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement
A free trade agreement between Canada and the European Union. The negotiations were concluded in August 2014. The agreement is to be approved by the Council of the European Union and the European Parliament.
EIF - The European Investment Fund
Established in 1994, is a European Union agency for the provision of finance to SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises), headquartered in Luxembourg.
It does not lend money to SMEs directly; rather it provides finance through private banks and funds. Its main operations are in the areas of venture capital and guaranteeing loans. Its shareholders are: the European Investment Bank (62%); the European Union, represented by the European Commission (29%); and 30 privately owned EU financial institutions (9%)

The European Investment Bank is the European Union's nonprofit long-term lending institution established in 1958 under the Treaty of Rome.
